USGA Golf Science on Putting, Work, Energy and Power
In this segment of the ongoing USGA and NBC Learn YouTube series on the science behind golf, we examine with LPGA champ Suzann Petterson the physics behind the game’s most pressure-packed shot: The Putt.
There are plenty of physics laws and equations at stake as you’ll learn behind understand putting, work, energy and power. Kinetics, of course, is once again a major player in putting putting together, from a scientific standpoint as you’ll learn in the video below presented here by 2nd Swing Golf Blog.
Check out this information-crammed video putting, work energy and power (two or three times):
Here are just some of the concepts outlined a bit more visually for you from the USGA and NBC Learn on physics and putting, work, energy and power.
Still, Petterson and USGA scientists said that while putting, work, energy and power are at the core of every shot made, players still lose control of the ball once it leaves the clubface – and must trust in their instincts, training and knowledge.
